Kristina Brooks, a recent graduate of MCW, was chosen out of 7,000 applicants to sing on The Oprah Winfrey Show today. She is one of the semi-finalists in Oprah’s “Karaoke Challenge.” Brooks entered Oct. 19 and received word back a week later that she qualified. To vote for her, call 1-866-U-PICK-07 / 1-866-874-2507!

Juliet Gopoian’s Conservatory students Jerry Brone, Bryant Lo, and Reed Peterson received Gold certificates and played in the winners concert at the Conservatory, in the annual District Four Auditions of the New York State Teachers Association. In addition Reed Peterson won 1st place and a cash prize, in his age category, in the Stravinsky International Piano Recording Competition.

The Suzuki Strings Institute performed its recital last Friday evening, and it was a smash. To view pictures from the event, click here.

Welcome to the fall 2009 semester at the Music Conservatory of Westchester. This will be an exciting year at the Conservatory as we celebrate the school’s 80th anniversary. We look forward to having you participate in our anniversary events. Visit our website and take a look at our fall catalog for information on lessons, classes and more. We’ve re-organized the catalog to make it easier to find the right programs for you! Please note that the first day for private lessons and Musical Theatre Workshop is Saturday September 12th; group classes and ensembles begin on Tuesday October 13th.

MCW’S summer hours are effective June 29th – August 28th. The hours are as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 8:30a.m.- 6p.m. and Wednesday 8:30 a.m.- 9:30 p.m. The building will be closed Saturdays and Sundays.
