The Music Conservatory of Westchester welcomes Croton-on-Hudson painter Christopher Magadini as part of their new Artist Exhibition Series
featuring local painters and photographers. Magadini’s exhibition, Light and Shadows, The Hudson and Beyond, has been on display since February 25. On Friday, March 19, there will
be an opportunity to meet the artist and view the works. The exhibit will remain up through Wednesday, April 14. This event begins at 6PM inside the Michael Stadther & Helen Demetrios
Recital Hall and is free and open to the public. The gallery space is a generous gift of Mary Lynn Marx Bianco, in honor of her parents Virginia and Leonard Marx. For more details, email info [at] musiced.org.

Due to inclement weather, the Conservatory will be closed today – Friday, Feb.26. The building will reopen on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 8:30 a.m. Tonight’s “Live on Central” concert featuring Joanna Jenner has been postponed until further notice.

On March 19, 2010, join piano duo Svetlana Gorokhovich and Irena Portenko for our next “Live on Central” concert at 7 p.m. Symphonic and operatic repertoire that has been arranged for four-hand or piano duo setting. Attempts to minimize the number of players, but retain broad variety of timbres and dynamics as well as to mirror the range of voices and orchestral instruments.
Tickets are $15; $10 for students and senior citizens; and free for MCW students and faculty. Reservations are recommended.

Continuing its yearlong series of 80th anniversary celebrations, the Music Conservatory of Westchester will hold a Faculty Honors and Tribute Concert on Saturday, December 5 to recognize the illustrious contributions of Lisa Deutsch to the cultural life of Westchester and celebrate the remarkable work of four Conservatory faculty members. The special evening of music and celebration features performances by renowned classical musicians and honors longtime faculty members Juliet Gopoian (of Hartsdale), Dorothy Jonas (of White Plains), Harold Jones (of Manhattan), and David Krieger (of Pleasantville) with the Conservatory’s 2009 Teaching Awards. The evening will also mark the formal dedication of the newly installed Faculty Recognition Wall in honor of Lisa Deutsch (of Armonk), who joined the Music Conservatory in 1998 and became Executive Director in 2001.
